Hi guys

Wanting to build a small inquisition force with a bit of a self made fluff element to it.. the fluff for the inquisitor is basically that he is a scavenger and good with tech, his basic acolytes are going to be Skitarii rangers who he has programmed to do his bidding.. so that element to the army is covered.. however I do want Death Cult Assassins and Crusaders in a couple of henchmen warbands with the Acolytes..

So scrolling through the many kits that GW do and a glance over a forge world has led me to Dakka to ask for help.. which kits do you think I could convert into DCA and Crusaders? I'm interesting in using some of the AOS kits which is mainly where I have been looking, the different Witch Elf kits look good and pass the prerequisites of having swords which can be power weapons.. but I am open to suggestions, the Crusaders are where I have struggled.. storm shields won't be a problem.. just can't think of a suitable model to represent them..

There are other elements to the army I want to add such as Tanks etc but at the moment it is a small force that needs be can be added to my larger forces or used in huge games etc, Ministorum priests are another interesting option but I have my heart set on Empire warrior priests with converted Eviscerators!

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

You could use some runestalker for the DCA, to keep the Admech flavour.

I know a lot of folks used the Chaos Cultists from the Dark Vengeance kit as Inquisitor Warbands/Imperial Fanatics. They are very fitting looks-wise and quite easy to convert if you have to at all. You could try and hunt down some Necromunda stuff, virtually every sculpt was singular in presentation and would fit a Warband nicely. It might cost a bit depending on the model, though.

For the Crusaders, you could just get some Grey Knight models and convert the heck out of them!

My =I= Warband is awesome. The most fun thing about building one is it's essentially a motley crew with so much variety in appearance and function. Have fun bro!

Any WF empire sets can be kitbashed nicely and they are easy enough to pick up on the cheap with a little searching.

I've bought Protectorate Exemplar Errants as Crusaders and Retribution Mage Hunter Infiltrators as DCAs (both kits are from PPs Warmachine line). Neither are as high-quality as the GW stuff, though
