New here so i hope Im in the right place

anyway i here in regards to a few matches that i have played against my friend who is a Imperial Guard player.

i never really gave this much thought during the match until i looked in the rule book. anyway my question is that he says that his tanks dont fire on snap shots when he shots a ordnance weapon. because he a heavy tank.
but i cant find anywhere in the rule book that says this. so by any chance does he get a special rule that lets him do this in his codex?

No he doesn't, ask him to show you where in the rules it says he doesn't have to fire his other weapons as a snap shot. He won't be able to find it.

Firing the battle cannon, which is an ordnance weapon makes all the other weapons hit on a 6. It's a massive nerf for the Leman Russ, and a bug bear for many guard players. But thems the breaks I'm afraid.

yes its confusing because both the rules for ordnance in the special rules, and the rules for ordnance in the shooting phase section dont say this happens. it does however mention it in the vehicles section.

All other weapons fired are fired as snapshots, even if he fires the cannon last, when he declares all his targets, if that gun is fired, everything else is a snapshot. It's a huge slap for the leman. especially as its heavy.

Yes its why people don't take sponsons on the LRBT and Demolisher variants anymore.

The problem is a lot of older IG players have all of their LRs modeled with sponsons from a different era
