Hello, I'm new to Dark Eldar. This was the first list I came up with using the stuff I own.

I like to play to themes (essentially I pick something and build an army around it. In this case it was the flyers)

So for this particular list the flyers are essential, I want to build a list that compliments my airforce. I will post my inventory aswell if you have some suggestions please look at the inventory list because I will not be purchasing more dark elder. Converting possibly but not buying more stuff in the foreseeable future.

I like the look of the list, but at 2000 points you're going to be hard pressed to keep your stuff alive for a couple turn until your planes show up. Do you have any reserve manipulation? Maybe a small craftworld ally of an autarch or a comms relay might be a decent idea. I have a comment on your trueborn. 4 blasters and a splinter rifle is fine, 3 blasters and 2 splinter cannons seems like wasted shooting either way. The blasters want to hit armor and the cannons infantry, so either way you have wasted shots. I say specialize. Maybe 2 squads with blasters and 1 with splinter? Also do the warrior venoms have 2 splinter cannons? I hear that's the way to run them lol Is the webway portal there for any particular reason? Does the archon go in the raider?

Just some thoughts. I like your overall goal man, just refine it a touch and it should do fine.

I'm shying away from Eldar allies.

Comms relay I can do but then I'd need a unit to stay near it, is it worth it?

I did a lot of research and several tacticas recommended 4 blasters or 3 blaster and 2 splinter cannons loadouts. At first I thought the same thing you mentioned that I may be wasting shots but I assumed I shouldn't question the cumulative knowledge of DE players that have I imagined done several play tests.

And yeah the webway portal is for the archon to port the 4 blaster trueborn in a raider right to the enemy and blast away with 5 blasters.

Makes sense, I haven't ever heard of that, but hey I don't play DE I'm just trying to think tactically for your unit. Roll what you want man, I like the list for sure. You going to get any practice games in?

I like this list A LOT. Now, I will warn you when playing Tau and battle company, as they put out a silly amount of firepower. I have a feeling you already know that though. Hide your venoms and hope for good reserve rolls. Then you'll be solid. Dig the venom spam. I love the idea of venoms, but I wish their splinter weapons weren't exclusively poison.

Apparently the best unit to have near a comms relay is a 3-man unit of mandrakes. With 2+ cover and only about 40 points or so, they are perfect for the job.

I don't have a mandrakes but the raiders of realspace detachment does give me a re-roll to warlord trait which gives me a better chance of getting the Dark Eldar trait that allows re-rolls to reserves.
