Who makes good stuff? I was surprised by how little my googling turned up ...

My ideal is something along the lines of these excellent homemade pieces. I would really prefer to avoid building them myself, however. As for what I have already found: I know about 4ground's currently-scant line but at 15mm (a more affordable scale) I would prefer something sculpted over MDF. (Don't want anything to do with paper terrain, either.) I've seen Peter Pig's Saxon buildings and am not too wild about them. Kallistra's stuff is okay but I am concerned about scale as they are advertised as "suitable for 10-15mm gaming" - plus Kallistra has eye-watering shipping to the US. Hovels sells a neat Celtic farm set but my focus would likely be on British against Saxons ... plus Hovels is kind of up front about moving really slow (28 days for an unpainted order ...).

Sadly, I can't help you but thank you for sharing the link where the cartoon Hippo explains how to build terrain!

Helpful Helpful Hippo! but yeah ... who'da thunk 15mm Dark Ages terrain would be so scarce? I guess I am just spoiled by all the 28mm stuff for SAGA.

By Fire and Sword has some good medieval/early modern Eastern European terrain. It could probably work for the Dark Ages as well.

4Ground also sells a few 15mm Dark Age Saxon buildings:

I also found this, which looks interesting:

15mm terrain seems surprisingly rare indeed. Loads of 28mm Dark Ages stuff though. And that Saga great hall really is a work of art!

Somewhere in south-central England.

A Saxon burh could easily by built using the skills you developed with your Ronin terrain.

Magister Militum have some 15mm stuff that might work.

Another idea is to get 15mm Napoleonic Russian peasant buildings. It probably wouldn't fool an archaeologist, but for wargames...

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

OK - yes I like these very much. Wish they had a church as well!

Probably so but I had hoped to avoid starting another terrain project on that level. I am aiming to start scratch building a section of the Deeping Wall from LotR after I finish the first set of the Ruins of Osgiliath.
