Hello everyone!
I'm making a large scale diorama depicting a battle, the empire/bretonnia fighting Archaon Everchosen and his Varanguard. The diorama is basically Archaon high up on his mount overlooking the slaughter while the Varanguard and blood warriors tear through the humans, with the Sigmarities coming down from above to help the humans.
I'm trying to make it as accurate to the story of AoS as possible, so I'm just wondering, would the Sigmarities bother to come down and help? Or do they not really ally with other factions?
Thanks in advance for all your answers.

I did read something recently in the news and rumours section about auxiliaries that follow the Stormcast. But I can't find it anywhere!
Here we go

New Audiobook fluff hints- Astral Templars are hardcore. Tribal Stormcast. Animal skins and blood war paint- scarification and tattoos. Drinking ogor blood. They are to the Hammers what the Space Wolves are to Ultras.
Also Auxiliary Chambers- non Stormcast allies. Free people bowmen and spearman- denizens of the realm who ally themselves to the Stormhosts that visit.
I'll keep you posted spiked free of any pertinent fluff aspects

I think Stormcast coming in to save the day is their whole schtick really, so it makes sense to me.

There's no Brettonians in the age of Sigmar...
Sorry, to clarify, in the chronological age of Sigmar there are no 'Brettonians', so having those guys up against Varanguard would be like 1st Dynasty Egyptians fighting Napoleonic troops.

Thanks for the replies!
Really? I'm still working out who survived end times. I guess I won't be using Brettonians then!
The Empire survived, correct?

Dammit, editing as you posted!
There are humans in AoS, but not in any form that'd be recognised; in essence, you still have folks that look very much like Empire troops, but the Empire itself is no more.

Humans did survive the End Times. Or at least were reborn into the realms who were from the Empire/Bretonnia. However as per the fluff it's been about 10,000 years since then. The "Empire" as we know it is no more and whatever culture has emerged in the various realms is completely distinct from the Empire.

OK I understand now, the human factions are more or less no more, but humans still do exists.
Thank you all for your input, it has helped me a lot!

Per the order compilation, humans are refered to as the "Free Peoples"

Indeed, the new human force is the Free Guild as the new free people populate the 8 realms.
You can reasonably mix in both Empire and Bretonnians as the realms were populated by countless kingdoms and empires before the forces of chaos were able to invade.
At the beginning, it was the pantheon of Sigmar and the ascended that held back chaos with the mortal armies. When the pantheon broke apart and chaos took control, Sigmar retreated to his realm with the remnants of many (but not all) of the mortal kingdoms.
In this time Sigmar forged massive armies of his Stormcast, using the souls of heroes and metal made from the core of the world-that-was, and launched a crusade to retake the realms. Only those free people left among the realms were able to fight at this time.
Now that many events have been in order's favor, the Free people are striking out of Sigmar's realm in full force and those throughout the realms are fighting back.
So the choice for the diorama is up to you. A band of Stormcast being supported by an Free Guild army to defend a vital position? A large army of Stormcast and Free Guildsmen besieging a chaos fortress? A Free Guild light brigade cavalry charge while a Stormcast elite force sneaks around to confront Archaon directly? All up to you.
Your diorama sounds really cool and I wish you the best of luck with it.
[Edit] might've skipped over your first question about the relationship between Stormcast and humans. The Stormcast certainly would aid the Free people, they happily ally with, and will give their lives for, anyone who opposes chaos. Be it humans, tree spirits or even vampires.
If space marines are uncompromising Punishers of 40k then Stormcasts are the reasonable Captain Americas of fantasy.

Thanks for the informative post! I guess i'll try and use the Empire Flagellants Warband and maybe the Free Company models to try and make them look like a ragtag bunch of warriors and have the stormcast as the big heroes of the diorama.
