Which is better? Why are they good? Thoughts?
Both have same statline and pref enemy, H destroyer is 10 PT more but instead of 24' 5-3 H2 its 36' 9-2 H1

Heavies are the bane of me. Wrecking my tanks, gutting my riptide and decimating my crisis suits.

Regular, hurt a lot to crisis suits, but I don't mind much otherwise.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

They each do different things regular take on MEQ and light MCs. Heavy destroyers take big MC with 2+ (dreadknight) and can also challenge tanks or TEQs if you lack mass gauss.
The reason the are considered good is because they are fairly cheap for what they do have multiple wounds and are jet pack infantry so they can jump shoot jump into cover or out of Los. I personally like heavys better but it depends on your meta

You want both.

I always try to field both. In a Cult with preferred enemy and extermination protocols they are excellent. Throw in a Triarch Stalker and they almost always hit.

Would you ever spend the 10pt upgrade to put the heavy destroyed in the squad of normal?

Absolutely. It enables tackling of more targets, and allows more range when you're just out of reach of other targets.

Deranged Necron Destroyer

they both have their uses. I like to stick two units of H. Destroyers near a Triarch stalker with a HGC as necron artillery for effectively bs 10 on the H.destroyers.

Normal destroyers wreck MEQ

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case.

I'm just used to Eldar and DE wich is running min squads and each squad focused on killing the same thing... So a typical destroyer Cult is a Destroyer Lord, 3 squads of 2 Destroyers and 1 heavy destroyer and then a squad of 2 heavy Destroyers?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also how would you use the Destroyer Lord? He is jetpack which I think makes him harder to pair with wraiths or preatorians
