Hey all, so I'm new to the 40k scene, and we do not have a local gaming store sadly so I get all my rules questions answered on the internet. I've searched for this but I haven't found anything so I come to you all. I apologize if the answer is obvious. So if I have a hunter contingent and use the coordinated firepower to target a unit with say 3 pathfinder units to bump up their ballistic skill, can I then target the marker lighted unit with the rest of my units to gain the BS+1 and share the markerlights? So in short can I use coordinated firepower more than once in a turn? Another question If my commander has a drone controller and shoots with 2+ other units since his ballistic skill is increased to 6 do the drones get to use the BS of 6?

You can use coordinated firepower more than once in a turn, but not with the same units, I think. If I remember correctly, it is not only once per turn.

Keep in mind that in the Shooting Phase, you must choose a unit that has not shot yet, though, so if they participate in one Coordinated Firepower attack, they would not be able to participate in another.

Also, base Markerlights cannot improve the shooting of the unit that fired them, only networked markerlights can do that.

Now, any other units shooting at the markerlighted unit afterward would be able to benefit from the markerlights they put forth, but that is about it.

Your other question is a little wonky. If the rule just swaps the BS, then no, it would not start with the modified version.

Thanks that answers it! As for the second question, the Drone Controller allows drones to fire using the holder's ballistic skill.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Specifically the rule for the done controller states "All gun drones, marker drones and sniper drones in the same unit as a model with a drone controller use the bearer's ballistic skill instead of their own"

As long as the Commanders unit is firing at the same target as the rest of the units coordinating their fire, then any drones part of aforementioned units would benefit from a drone controller.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

There is also the formation that allows units firing at the same squad to count as the same unit. So I believe in that formation when multiple units shoot they all share the markerlight rules to up their BS. But im not a tau expert so take that with a grain of salt

Right, sort of.
Let's try an example; the formation has the following units remaining:
Pathfinder units A, B, C
Fire warrior squads D & E
Cadre Fireblade F

Units A,B,C coordinate their firepower. All three benefit from +1BS and place a bunch of markerlights tokens on some unit. None of the three units that just fired can use any of the markerlights they just placed because they don't have networked markerlights and the rule says to treat the three units as one bigger one for resolving the coordinated attack.

D, E, & F now decide to coordinate their firepower as well. They can use the markerlights placed by the first three as this is now a separate shooting attack and, because they resolve their shots as a single unit, all three will benefit from any markerlight tokens expended.
