Is it better to spend 25pt to have 12 squads of 15 men or is it better to save 25pts and have 9 squads of 20 men and a naked veteran squad?

Want to fill points in with lone Chaos Knight at 375 to fill up to 1500. How can i do that without going unbound? Is there a legal way to take 1 Chaos Knight similar to Oath sworn?

I hard stressed a similar list with half as much meltaguns but each squad had a chaos sigil and the command squads had command net vox, and the company command had the banner of hate. They still failed ld because The siege of Vraks chaos sigil is only stubborn and re-roll 1st fail not auto ignore 1st failed moral check. It also sucked when i roll a low ld stat. Mostly I am not sure if this happens but when thunderfire drops on to a squad they get maimed so bad there would only be 1 or 2 survivors i wished would die or run off the board 12" a turn quickly. I am considering getting both krak and a squad champ with meltabombs.

edit: updated with Points cost and included militia training and krak grenades and 4th troop is naked veteran squad.

Krak Grenades should be auto include and strongly consider militia training. Melta bombs will be underwhelming and frustrating to keep track of.

If you were taking Chaos Sigils why weren't you using the IA13 book?

I finally found someone to allow me to test my version of the Unending host.

From all the research I read, Leadership was a huge problem so I chose chaos sigils, and command vox for the command squads and even took a banner of hatred. It really didn't matter as I rolled low for the LD stat due to uncertain worth and then proceeded to fail the LD check. The cost to help that problem was 20pt fanatics which is too much points. So many of my stuff just got caught in sweeping advances. Like why the hell cant I use high str 6 ap4 single model hits in battle with infantry, MC, bikes, etc...?

I feel that I dont care and can count on the squad to lose moral and run or get swept in combat. That leaves the enemy out in the open for me to shoot but then I still have a near dead squad wasting turns running to my board edge.

Now I wish I had safe plasma guns but I guess I will have to rock short range melta guns. With 9 infantry squads I hope to bring a total of 36 melta guns instead of the 18 i had before. I dont have 36 melta guns yet.

Would meltabombs be worth it if I fight av13 walkers?

I think you can only take fanatics upgrade to infantry squads when your arch demagogue is arch heretic revolutionary, so it's not an option for unending host lists.

If you are up against a lot of AV13 walkers you should be able to fall back and shoot them again with melta when you lose combat? Personally I give my champions melta bombs but it's an extra ten points per squad (bomb and champ upgrade). If you want to be cool you could give them carapace for an extra ten points then use a more heavily armoured model to distinguish him/her from the others in the squad. I model most my champions physically lugging a melta bomb around instead

I lose combat and all 15 men get swept since initiative is 3.

My group plays with the rules that krak grenades can only be used on walkers and vehicles. What page or how do i point out it can be used on infantry, beast, cavalry, mc and gmc?

It 100% can be used on MC and GMC!!!! That's why renegades infantry squads should always take them. Don't have rulebook handy but can reassure you they can be used on MC/GMC also.

No you can't. you can only use grenades on MCs, GMCs, and vehicles
