Thinking of getting one of the two, as I am tempted to take advantage of the fast vehicles that Blood Angels have access to. What do you think is better, the Predator or the Vindicator?

Predator. Trilas that can reposition and fire all guns is awesome.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!" |

I haven't been using any heavy options lately. Both the vindi and pred have been passed up by the game.

Probably neither, but the Predator is more likely to live.

I love running dual overcharged vindicators in fun games. Just make sure to give em a HK missile and storm bolters so a single 5 on the damage table doesn't turn it into a 130 point bumper car. If you really want to get froggy you can give one the legacy of glory that let's the pie plate ignore cover.
If you're going to be playing a competitive game I highly suggest running red Space Marines instead. Either that or if you insist on BA leave the HS on the shelf (excepting maybe ravens).

The critical flaws to the Vindicator is the AV 11 side, which makes the tank effectively AV 11, no jink and there being no way to gain ignore cover.

I've found that a decent amount of terrain and proper placement of the vindicators (easier with ours since they aren't neutered if they move 12) and their surrounding units can make them decently survivable. Even better if you've got a libby that can give it stealth or shrouded. One of the legacies of glory costs 25 pts and allows pie plates to ignore cover.
Granted this assuredly will not work in a cut throat meta or even most serious games. However if you arrange a Saturday afternoon game at the LGS with a buddy who wants to run a noise marine or fish of fury list for poos and giggles, I say go ahead and try it.

I'd vote predator with Autocannon turret and lascannon sponsons to be the most point efficient of the two. I just wish they weren't quite so overcosted though... My BA armour list hasn't been played since they changed the codex :(
