Subject: 40k: What is your preference for a 2 day event?

Hi guys,
From what I've read and seen, 5 games of around 2.5 hours each is "standard" in 40k events that last for 2 days. Subjectively, is that something you're ok with? Would you rather another format? Would you go to an event that only has 4 games over 2 days?
The point limit I had in mind is 1750.
Background:
Off the back of a recent event, I heard a lot of "It could have gone the other way in another turn" or, "One more turn and I could have done this..". Which got me thinking about the game times and number of games etc. Having done the weekend event, with 5 games at 2.5 hours each, I never completed turn 5. While it is possible to have 3 hour games, 3 games in a day at 3 hours makes for an even longer day.
Essentially, would you rather have a game less, with more time for each game?
I've gone back and forth on the pro's / con's, and would like to hear the thoughts of the community.
Thanks for the comments,
Z

I think 6 games 2.5 hour rounds over two days should be an option here, but honestly it really depends on a lot of factors. How many points? How many players? What area? Are you using any FAQs or outside rules? I personally think there should always be enough rounds to safely determine a top player. I can't count on my hands how many times I was one of 5-10 other undefeated people to fall short of first simply because my opponents didn't do well.

Just finished team tourney at adepticon, 2:45 was enough time for all my games - 2 people playing a combined 2000 pts per side. 5 games is good so you can end early on day 2.

You should probably list the point value you were envisioning in the OP - that makes a big difference when people are deciding whether 2.5 hours is enough or not!

Yeah, just updated OP with point limit. I had 1750 points in mind when I posted this.
