Subject: Oh my that's huge.... Playing horde armies.
I ran a green tide with somewhere around 120 models in my army and it was horrible.
You just sort of push the models around in groups and have no time to worry about spacing the models out etc (or even making sure they are standing up really).
I played about a 100 strong green tide. Killed it with a single Tactical Marine...
Spoiler:
(Okay, so maybe my opponent, against the cries of everyone on his team, decided to use the Warpath psychic power - from his Warphead Wierdboy*- to teleport the unit onto our left flank. Cue a scatter right onto my Tactical Marine, and the unit was completely wiped)
*And yes, this was BEFORE the re-roll of the psychic power. Yes, my opponent refused to reroll the psychic power and teleport right onto my men.

300 boyz in a green tide + 6 warbozzes on bikes + 1 Pain boy and an oldskool KFF that worked for a unit. The whole thing walked on the board from the opponents table edge and was protected with some strategic assets from shooting the turn it arrived.
On top of that I had a decent mechanized army on the table that made room for the boyz to arrive with some nice D plates and deepstriking meganobz / burna boyz in battle wagons.

I played a 180-man guard list at a tournament last week. It was great fun with so many models - I faced a Taunar suit in one game and it was nice that all it could kill were 5pt guardsmen haha. I wound up winning in the end, which was quite a surprise.
It was quite hard work however, and one game only went to 3 turns which I felt a bit guilty about. I made speed-play my priority in all games, but still... Not sure whether it's the best idea at a big tournament. That game could have perhaps gone the other way if we'd had time to play on.
Fully Painted Armies: 2200pts Orks 1000pts Space Marines 1200pts Tau 2500pts Blood Angels 3500pts Imperial Guard/Renegades and 1700pts Daemons 450pts Imperial Knights

I've got a nid army consisting of 250+ small guys and 20+ MCs and FMCs that I love to bring out whenever there is an apoc game nearby. I prefer playing large horde armies. As long as you have a friend helping with the move phase during big apoc games, it doesn't take that must longer. Plus it is such a fun sight to see hundreds of models on the table and pull literally handfuls off every turn.
There used to be another guard player at my store for a while, but I havn't seen him in a long time and I ended up with most of his tanks and troops.

I played a list with over 100 Guardsmen in a 100 point game. My opponent couldn't stop my tide of bodies as they just moved up and FRFSRF'd there way across the table. That's also the core of a larger army, which can probably go up to 150 bodies of Guardsmen then another 40 of stormtroopers.

I have a large SoB force and generally field at least 60 if not 80+ Sisters. In smaller games I might even outnumber my mate's Orks (he often takes more expensive options) or the other guy's Imperial Guard.

80 marines, 80 guardsmen equivalents, 40 veteran equivalents (with volktie ) and 30 terminators. So 230 infantry is the closest I've come to a horde army, and it was in a "standard' 30k 2,500-3,000 point range
did I mention that it was fielded by me and revolved around the fact that all of those marine blobs had FNP

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.
