Hello!
My names Hunter and I am a new player to 40k tabletop and the forums. I'm an Imperial Guard player and one of the youngest members of my local league, and I absolutely -adore- painting my own models, even if they don't come out 'perfectly'
I am also huge into making 'fluffy armies' and naming my own soldiers and vehicles, and even taking the time to name individual squads and painting Extra 'flair' on them (like with the image above, that is the Sergeant of the 56th Cadian 'White Stripe' Squad.) I'm glad to be on here, and I hope to have plenty of fun and good conversations!

Cool, if you have time you could post your progress on your minis on a P&M blog. Fluffy armies are always a great journey to follow!
Welcome to Dakka.

Welcome to Dakka.
That actually sounds like a great idea. I'm HUGE into the fluff, and Imperial guard is my first army.
I did just paint three tanks... I'll have to post one, thank you for the suggestion!
EDIT: Although I'm not exactly the 'best' at painting.

Welcome to Dakka, theplahunter. Although you, as a servant to the Corpse Emperor and the damned Imperium of the Mankind, will die screaming at the hands of my Daemonkin and the glory of Khorne! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!
In all seriousness, I do look forward to your painting development. Your minis are done very well compared to some of my friends' models. Looking forward to the stories your army will have.

That means a lot to me, thanks! I'm not very confident with my minis, considering that Sergeant looks like Hitler (He's nicknamed Sgt. Hitler for giggles) and it's my first army. I also do have a story for my league match on Thursday.
The 'fluff' of the 152nd Cadian Deserters
'The 152nd Cadian were deployed on a seemingly 'abandoned' world after getting distress signals from the local PDFs. When the 152nd arrived, all the found was abandoned gun platforms and the corpses of hundreds of guardsmen. The unit was detached into 'sub-formations' lead by a captain, Captain Joseph Conrad took one hundred guardsmen, some artillery support, and a very meager detachment of heavy armor, and was also given control of a squad of Vulture gunships as air support. The 56th Cadian 'White Stripes' and 3rd Cadian 'Heatbringers' were two of the notable Squads taken from Colonel Warths command and sent along with Captain Conrad, and Demolisher call sign 'Warden' as well as the 'Cronus' Basilisk, both crews known for their calm under fire and deadly accuracy, were also sent along so they may provide support.
Soon after, however, Captain Conrad was 'contacted' by a mysterious force in his mind, and corrupted by the Dark Eldar. He had his two Commissars killed and announced to the Colonel he was taking command of his sub-unit ENTIRELY and called The Colonel many... Rude things. The camp was then bombed and the Captain along with whoever he could muster to escape ran to where the Dark Eldar told him to, but were cut off by A combined force of Necrons (Or demons) and traitor Space wolves for reasons unknown to the guardsmen. The Dark Eldar quickly came to the 'aid' of their new allies, and sent what they could while dealing with their own defenses. At the start of the battle, the Captain sent an order to his air support for assistance, but only two broke off from their formation and responded. "Blade 1-2 and Blade 1-3'"
And then, the battle began.
The list for the deserters is on the listing page, if you're interested in looking at them.

Ripe battlegrounds for my Daemonkin! I've just started a Khorne army, updates of which I will also be posting on a P/M page. It's a shame we live so far apart, otherwise I may enjoy tearing your Dark Eldar influenced Guardsmen to shreds for the glory of the Blood God. Blood for the Blood God!!!

Ah yes, it would be fun indeed! Although it wouldn't be a very difficult battle, I started playing tabletop a few weeks ago, my IG isn't even completed, with some of my models still unpainted and even un-primed (The 3rd Cadian 'heabringers' being one of them) so It'd be me making tactical mistakes and asking a ton of questions about what's going on.
