Subject: [2000] - Eldar, D/E, Harlequin - Asian inspired conversion list
I have recently been getting back into 40k, and this is my first list. I want to start with a bang, and for me that's a heavily converted unit that hopefully will be pretty fun to play!
This is not designed to ever be used in any tournaments or the like, just a fun personal project.

Currently I am living in china, and want to plan a heavily converted army that is themed around ancient Chinese warriors, think the japanese ideas of samurai/ninja, mixed with chinese kung-fu + dragons + mythical beasts)
Luckily I am married to an artist/designer with a history in sculpting, and she has promised to help me with some of the bigger models.. for example I really want to convert the hemlock wraith fighter into an almost dragon-shaped ship... the shadow spectres, will be fighting in a chinese ribon dance style.. the troupe will become ninja-like worriors, etc.

My thoughts were to try and create my spin on a leader-ship/close combat type list. I wanted it to contain a heavy number of psychers, and a seer council has always been one of my favorite units, so that was a must. In total it gets 17 warp charges by my calculations.
I have tried to include a lot of leadership options.. 2 death jesters capable of causing -2 leadership tests, retreating in any dirrections.. the hemlock can cause a buble of -2... both the succubus are armed with artifacts that cause -2 leadership effects (one only 1 off) and all 3 of my close combat units have a granade launcher that can cause damage based on a leadership test. -4 leadership should be highly achievable, if not -6 sometimes.
The succubus each become part of the wyches unit, which can now deepstrike using the webway portal, to get them right into action, and the cast of players are also given security + mobility by being in the raider.
I went with shadow spectres.. partly because I love the models, and they will fit very well with the conversions.. but also because they offer a lot of flexibility.. they can move quickly, and have a number of options for firing, including 1 single strong blast. I weighed up replacing them with a fire-prism, but it did not seem worth it.
Rangers are there to camp on/hold objectives, and the spirit seer can hopefully help the hemlock to re-roll any missed rolls to hit (if I can get him close enough)
-- my biggest worry is that it is does not have much anti-amour.. the raider has a dark lance, the shadow spectres + the hemlock, but thats about it for ranged power)
There are other units that I really want to include for the conversion, but would not fit into this army list, such as: Incubi, Reavers, Jain zar etc.
