Ok so I deleted the original post here and here is the list I am thinking of running at my local event. The missions are 6 objectives (which shouldn't be too hard), table quarters (which is based on # of units in them, ob sec count as 2 units), and KP. Will this do well?

Warpflame Host

Hotz, lvl2, paradox, conjuration, exalted reward (grim) 150
4X Exalted Flamer 200
5X Horrors (11) 495

Chaos Furies (5) 35

Kairos 300
LoC, lvl3, impossible robes, 1 greater, 2 lesser rewards (staff) 320
Belakor 350


How does this seem? What powers should I be rolling the LoC to try and get. Summoning? Or go offense with Tzeentch change powers?

Is belakor worth it? What could I take instead?

Is paradox worth it? I am afraid to do too much summoning with him and lose the grimoire!

Should I shift the rewards to 1 lesser on the LoC only (he needs staff or +2 S) and give him the grim since he is so hard to kill?

I like the second list more.
The Chaos Knight is nice, but the dirgecaster really does not fit -- as most of your stuff is shooting and your knight can survive the overwatch.
Chaos Knights are nice, but they get owned by wraithknights. 4 or 5 swings of a master-crafted D sword at I5 is a big problem for chaos knights.

The second list is strong, and I like it. My warpflame host I'm running this weekend is very similar, save for a forgehost instead of Be'lakor and the furies. (Be'lakor and the Furies sounds like a lot like a punk band)

Speaking of which, what is Be'lakor for? Kairos and the LoC will be swooping around wrecking face and causing lots of problems, but what about Be'lakor? If you are swooping, invis is not as important. All Be'lakor can do is shriek while flying around. He fits really well in a Tetrad list where the rest of the list is happily beating face, but I'm not sure how he fits in here.

Is incursion worth it? IMHO the short answer is yes.

Hello and thanks for the response! I like a lot of your info but just to play devils advocate I will respond a bit.

The knight, although yes will hurt vs. a D wraith knight is not planning to fight him in combat. The 4 exalted (all s10 shots) and the mass horrors units firing s7 should be enough to kill a wraith knight. Also with a 3++ or 2++ unless he rolls that 6 (which I know can and probably will happen lol) I would wreck him.

The benefit of the dirge caster isn't for the knight himself per se. It says enemies within 6" of the model cant over watch. Meaning that other unit of mine who charge a close by target (the knight is huge footprint) will be safe. Great vs tau who is everywhere around here...

Belakor is a different story. I really want him for the buffs. Maybe he isn't the answer but his combat prowless and shriek is so good. I know 5 flyrants will be at the event and I play them often. Them being lvl2 and him lvl3 makes for a lot of benefits when firing my shrieks.

My real concern with the incursion is that the host is so expensive. I know its good but lets think about what I could normally take.

You have screamer stars with buffs, you have plague drones with buffs, etc. Hound star with herald? All viable unit choices. Is the mass guys better? I don't know.

The other benefit of list 1 is the 2 ob sec units which are so easy to hide. Nothing in the incurion is ob sec and could get wrecked in objectives.

Objective Secured units also make corrupted objectives REALLY hard to uncorrupt.

An objective secured unit can't just land there and contest the objective. It has to land within 3" of the objective AND kill the nurglings. The way the rules work out, the daemon player will still control the objective.

It's a real kick in the pants to an eldar player expecting to jetbike onto your objectives on the last turn.
