Tomorrow I launch my second Kickstarter!

It's to release these guys:



The plan is small, yet - for me at least - pretty ambitious:



It will be absolutely awesome thing to make a whole squad of these things! But this is one time I really can't do it without getting some help from Kickstarter and properly seeing if there's an interest in it! I've put in as much as the budget will allow for this figure, and it's all fairly pricey! Digital sculpting may well be the future (to some extent), but it's still bloody expensive when you have no talent, and have to ask clever people to do the sculpting (Dave Kidd in this case, based on lovely artwork from Roberto Cirillo)!

The Kickstarter is small, but fully formed...there'll be some fantastic stretches which really DO benefit the pledgers, and some great Odyssey related Add-ons as well, including the first general release of Jason (who had previously been on sale last year in limited numbers), but also the first time the Cyclopes have been on sale:



These guys have been sculpted by Odyssey regular Robby Crawforth, and all the bits are fully interchangeable - you can do what the heck you want with these rather strange things

Anyway, I hope some of you might feel the urge to pledge - I'll update the thread tomorrow when we launch, and we'll see what happens!

I'll probably back this. I like the overall look of the figures. They remind me a lot of the Demigods from Asura's Wrath.

We've had that discussion before, but someone mining Asura's Wrath for mini inspiration is something I could really get behind. Love some of those designs.

I'll be keeping an eye on this as well. Maybe I can piggyback on Barzam's pledge...

Couple of questions, JoeK:

Are the Argonauts themselves on 40mm bases?

Will the sword hand be an option for each one, or do only some of them have the sword?

40mm bases for the Argonauts indeedy . Also, with each Argonaut, you get both a sword and a glaive arm, so you can choose

And we've gone through a couple of lovely (and very important) stretch goals, so there will be at least three different Argonauts to choose from when the campaign ends....

But hopefully there's still more fun stuff to come!

So, my dream of having lots of these little (big, little...kinda) figures is properly happening .

We've passed a couple of big stretch goals - namely to make two new poses, so you'll have three different figures to choose from!

Now on to some of the extra add-ons for the Argonauts:

Well, the new head and shield unlocked, and I'm moving forward! Have a new pose to show, and some rather natty wrist weapons to put on should we hit that one too...




Oh, and there's the small matter of Achilles bobbing along too...

I keep forgetting to back this. The new head design for the next stretch looks really good, too. I am a little curious if you are going to have a head styled like a Hoplite or Spartan helmet with the cheek guards and t shaped opening.

I don't think I am for the Argonauts. There's a reason for this because I do plan to use that helmet for other things - that won't be any time soon, but they're on the grand plan(tm)

I finally got my pledge in. I really like that third head option. It'll look good with the punchy type Argonaut. Will you have any painted samples of the Argonauts before the campaign finishes (or in the near future?

Thanks for the pledge - even one is counting at this stage!

As for painted samples - not for the campaign - mainly because nothing is finished aside from one master print! However, soon as I get this cast for production casting, I'll start to do it. Still not entirely sure what I'm going to do them as - I've been looking at the 'stone' effect renders for so long, I think it's becoming fixed in my mind

Right, going down to the last few hours now! It's been fantastic so far, but there's always room for a little bit more

Two final stretch goals to attempt to get to, but the important thing is that the Argonauts are going to be absolutely awesome!
