I really want to get into HH gaming and I had thought that with the additional legion rules KT would offer quite a flavourful game. Has anyone played KT games in HH? What was it like compared to KT games in 40K?

Can you use the KT rules as is or does there need to be some tinkering?

I hadn't thought about it til now, but it sounds fun. As far as I remember about KT, there would be nothing in there that's incompatible with 30k since 30k is just 40k but with different army lists.

Some of the legion specific rules may not be applicable but the various Rites of War each side could take look like they'd add a lot to the games.

Yeah, I'm not sure how well Rites of War would play into a game of KT. That's something I guess you'd have to work out with your opponent.

My thinking would be to keep the Legion rules and specialty units, but ditch access to Rites of War for KT. That's how I'd be inclined to do it personally, but like I said I haven't given this any thought til now. (I'd do the same for formations in games of 40k KT...I don't recall if they are allowed or not per the KT rules)

Hh book 6 has kill team rules and scenarios, these are played before a main game of 40k and affect the game itself, pretty cool.

Rites of War are irrelevant, as you can't use them without a Master of the Legion, and you can't have one of those in a game below 1,000pts - whichever Kill Team rules you use the points will be way way below that:

Book 6 contains a 2-page 'Special Scenario' which is basically the original 3rd edition Kill Team rules, except both sides field a 'codex' squad of up to 200pts.

Book 3 contains a campaign fought between ad-hoc warbands of <150pts of characters and 200-400pts of infantry (picked willy-nilly from any squad entries, rather than bought as a 'codex' squad).

All, this is great info, thanks so much! I'll be harassing my mates who have the books so I can read up on it.

I like the idea of the warbands as the next stepping stone after a small KT force.

I've had some good fun with these rules for 30k kill team I found, using the Heralds of Ruin kill team rules of course.

There is a Tactical Strike rule set in the HH books, book 2 or 3 that gives you similar rules. Here is the PDF from Adepticon
