Hello,

I have been gone from GW Warhammer for several years now. I wanted to get back in, and to my shock it has changed to this AoS thing. After some thought and consideration and research into AoS, I decided to give it a go. I found the Bretonnian PDF, but does GW have plans to re-release the minis? Or should I just buy Brets off ebay and buy the round bases off GW site? I can easily figure out the bases needed, but if the Brets are coming in the next month or two, I'd rather wait... Thoughts?

Bretonnia no longer exist; it was destroyed and doesn't fit with AoS. Rules will exist for you to use your Bretonians in AoS whilst GW leave them available, but that's it.

Other games are available which (a) are better and (b) still support Bretonians in some form.

Brettonians are not part of the current lore anymore, but the rules will always be there. One day, GW might change the way war scrolls or the rules are made, but that is the only circumstance in which the rules would then be gone.

There's nothing wrong with using them or Tomb Kings for that matter in AoS. In fact, they're pretty powerful in AoS. There won't be a re-release, but who knows what human releases could be coming in the future.

Thanks you. Do you know if maybe they are reinventing the Bret models? Maybe they are coming back in another form (of knights)?

No, they are gone for good. There are still Empire Outriders and Pistoliers, but they really aren't the same.

Unfortunately, there have been no signs that Bretonnia have any place in GW's plans for AoS going forward. If this changes, I'm sure we'll discuss the heck out of it in here... but in the meantime they've been discontinued unfortunately (although you do have the warscrolls to use from the initial AoS release).

See this link for the warscrolls:

If you want to discuss Bretonnians further, it is probably best to do so in the Warhammer 8th edition board here:

Obviously, if you want to discuss them for use in AoS, feel free to make a new thread regarding your list / tactics / etc. Going to lock this one up to avoid any back and forth on the issue of GW discontinuing races (we're hoping to have more threads devoted to AoS in this area, and legacy WHFB at the link above, rather than each devolving into a comparison of the two).
