I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I'm wanting to create a unique looking Astra Militarum army complete with tanks, walkers, fliers and infantry. I recently discovered some old Dust Tactics models on clearance, but I haven't seen the minis in person and I was wondering what the scale is like.

I've seen some pics of the infantry side by side, and while the Dust models appear slightly bigger, they will work.

What I'm most interested in is the scale of the vehicles. What Dust models would make good Leman Russ alternatives? Chimeras? Basilisk? Valks? etc

Thank you in advance for any insights you can toss my way! Once I figure out if the scale will work, I'll be posting pics of my conversion work and some background of my unique Imperial Guard Regiment.

I have a quad walker of the "Allies" and one of the "Axis" walkers from Dust Tactics. The hope was to use them as Onager Dunewalkers from my Skitarri.

The leg size makes them really really wide.

I also have a Bipedal "Light" walker from the Allies, it has a twin laser weapon or quad 50. cal as a weapon, Its giant heavy base is wider than even a HWT/Sentinel/Dread base (but it could pass as a Sentinal, its just really thin and TALL, with a wider base), I was planning on using it as an Ironstrider with my Skitarri but I abandoned that and plan to scavenge its parts for other ideas.

I have seen the bipedal "Tank" walkers and I think they are larger than the Sentinel/Dreads by far.




In short, the scale seems a bit off vehicle wise at least.

I want to try out the flyers from Dust Tactics but I strangely feel they would be too small (crazy as it sounds).

Your welcome to give it all a try but my personal experience is wonky with these machines.

If you want I can go grab (what remains) of the quad walkers and post them next to a Russ, Baneblade etc. feel free to ask

A couple of shots next to some IG Armor would be great! I'm especially interested in seeing how they look next to a Leman Russ, as I'm trying to decide on one of the walker tank variants as a proper alternative model to the Russ.

Since neither model uses a base, perhaps the width won't matter too much?

Here we are. I managed to put the pieces together of the Axis and Allied Quad walkers.





The hulls by themselves are big enough to be a Russ, even if the Axis is a bit long in the hull. The Legs make them wider than a Russ.
