Anyone familiar with this guy? His work is incredible.

Wondering what techniques he uses to achieve such great shading. I'm assuming very fine airbrushing?

I do not believe that is airbrushed, looks like wet blending (of about a million coats)

I'd say wet blending rather then airbrushing.

Amazing either way

Fight apathy. Or don't.

I'll actually go back and say it wasn't wet blending but rather layering, funny that is what I had in mind anyway (hence the million layers). He has done some tutorials here;

Supreb. Yeah, amazing work. Was googling terminator chaplains and found his, couldn't believe it wasn't a rendered image. Great inspiration for me getting back into 40k, looking forward to getting my wolves painted up!

It's the kind of work that inspires a person, right? Brings a tear to my eye.
I've seen the technique applied on a video before and wow, it's so simple yet garners amazing results.

For sure! I guess for guys like me who actually want to field the units it'll be a toss up between spending a lot of time on each model or doing them to a good table standard! I think i'll do the units stock but spend some time with HQ's and see what i can do.

By looking at his methods you could just work on them between playing with them.
