Hi guys,

I'm trying to put together a 1500 point army working from a few models I currently have. I'm new to WH40K and am unsure if the army I've come up with is a good, fun, take all-comers sort of list. I'm not wanting to be competitive but I just want to be able to rock up to my FLGS and have a fun fight. The models I currently have are 10 Grey Hunters, 1 Ven Dreadnought w/ shield+axe, and 3 TWC.

Company of the Great Wolf Detachment - 895 pts

HQ
Rune Priest
+Warlord
60pts

Elites

Dreadnought
+Venerable
+Frenrisian Great Axe and Blizzard shield
+Drop Pod
180pts

5x Wolf Scouts
+5x Sniper Rifles
+Camo Cloaks
85pts

Troops

10x Grey Hunters
+2x Meltaguns
+Drop Pod
195pts

Fast Attack
3x Thunderwolf Cavalry
+Storm Shield/Thunder Hammer on Pack Leader
+Storm Shield/Power Fist
+Storm Shield/Wolf Claw
240pts

Heavy Support
5x Long Fangs
+4x Missile Launcher
135pts

Arjac's Shieldbrothers Formation - 605 pt
s

5x Wolf Guard Terminators w/ TH/SS
+Arjac Rockfist
+Land Raider Crusader
605pts

I plan on putting the Rune Priest with the Long Fangs and Divination buffing everyone as I would like to try out psykers in my gameplay. If anyone could provide feedback on this starter list that would be much appreciated.

I tend to be more competitive and my LFGS group are also more in the same spirit. So for friendly fun stuff I would drop the Scouts and pick up a lone wolf, they are kit based from anything. And one in terminator armor dual claws running with a pack of wolves is fun.

For the long fangs, as they look to be your primary anti-tank go las cannon the extra STR and AP will help a lot and I would either look to give the rune priest artifact armor, or the pack leader terminator armor to tank for the squad.

And I would put the Grey Hunters in a Rhino sense you can only drop 1 pod turn one, and you don't want to roll wait for the other ones to come in and you want the dread in combat asap.

I personally find Arjacs formation very costly for what it does compared to what TWC can do but if this works to be fun and evenly matched with your local area play to have fun, and the best matches you will ever have and remember are the ones that come down to the last dice roll.
