So we had our Doomsday Machine
OP today. I was thinking I would try a variation on the list that won the Baltimore Regional. I thought it would work for this
OP because there was no auto damage coming at you ships each round, unlike the last two. I changed a few things up to get some more attacks out of the Robinson and I don't have GenKhan. I draw the line at paying $40 for a single card, just one of the reasons I can't stand
MTG
This is what I came up with:
Officer Exchange Program Fed/Klingon
22 Robinson
04 Kor 8
06 Rebellion
01 Klag
01 Elizabeth Lens
02 Worf
05 Rimat I'Klan
03 Sakonna*
02 Arsenal*
02 Tactical Stations*
00 Type 8 Phasers*
01 Upgrades Phasers
24
ISS Defiant
04 William Riker (MU Target Prime)
02 Admiral Worf
03 Ilim Garak (MU)
05 William Riker (Pegasus)
01 Aft Phaser Array
02 Dorsal Phaser Array
My blind Was the Kazon
26 Nistrim Culluh
04 Culluh
03 Rulat
03 Stolen Technology
04 Photonic Charges
I got Kor up to skill 11 and Riker skill 12 and the Robinson has 5 attacks base.
From what I remember my opponent had
Scimitar
Salatre
Interphase Generator
Interphase Generator
Counter Attack
Vo
Donatra
Cloaked Mines
Praetus
Clark Terrel
Cloaked Mines
Blind
Lakota
Bentine
Upgraded Phasers
Tuvok
Set up
Neither of us remembered to bring along objective tokens so we used some extra dials. I decided to go for the Doomsday Machind. I put the Kazon out front just incase.
Turn 1
Riker did 3 damage to the Machine, Kor ditched his Tactical Stations for 2 extra attacks and with a few rerolls and
BS made all 7 hits

. Boom down goes the Machine turn 1 and I didn't even need the Kazon.
Turn 2
Riker and Cullah are out of range, however Riker uses Admiral Worf so Kor gets a free attack on the Scimitar. It was a good roll but my opponent use an Interphase Generator. Kor did 2 more damage with his regular attack. He took some shields off of me with his attack, but I used Rebellion and got another good roll taken out by an Interphase Generator. Not bad though the Scimitar was down to 3 hull left.
Turn 3
Kor and Riker finish off the Scimitar and Culluh takes the shields off of the Lakota. My Opponent focuses on the Robinson. I lost my shields to his cloaked mines and I turned his other attacks into Warp Core Breaches on the Robinson. Yes that is right two core breaches,
Turn 4
Kor survives both core breach rolls AND my opponent whiffs the mine roll
Riker uses Admiral Worf to let Kor attack the Lakota and he takes it out. Kor and Riker use thier Regular Attacks to take out the Vo, leaving the Praetus all alone
Turn 5
Kor passes the core breaches again

and uses an action flip one over. The Defian loses a shield to the mines and Culluh is lost in the mine field. I can't shoot and the Praetus passes and decided to stay cloaked
Turn 6
Core passes his core breach and flips over the last one. Riker takes aim on the Praetus and lands a hit and a crit. The Crit is WARP CORE BREACH, a lot of those going around this game.
Turn 7
First roll on his core breach and my opponent rolls a crit, BOOM

game over.
Until I saw it first hand I wasn't really sure how nasty this build could be. Having Kor make 2-3 attacks a turn is vicious especially when he get 4 rerolls with each attack

Now luck was a huge part, I did pass 5 core breach rolls and manage to get a ship with one hull through the mine field. So a little luck and some tricks won this one. Not sure what the plan is for Wrath of Khan, but it was fun to test this list out.
