Hey Guys!

I thinking about trying out the "Archangels Sanguine Wing"-Formation (found in the Shield of Baal Supplement).

The formation is basically like this:
- 10 Sternguard (one full squad of 10)
- 20 Vanguard with Jumppacks (two squads of 10 each)
- 1 Stormraven

- The whole formation has to be kept in Reserve (Sternguard in Raven), only one roll for the entire formation to arrive.
- ALL vanguard can take a powerweapon for free / ALL sternguard can take combi-weapon or stormbolter for free.

The formation basically gives us 400 points of equipment for free!
I am just unsure about how to equip the guys. I already got the stormraven, but none of the veterans.

I was thinking about something like this (910 points):
- Stormraven /w TL Lascannon, TL Multimelta, 4 Missiles
- Sternguard 5x combi-melta, 5x combi-plasma. Will be combatsquadded.
- Vanguard 8x axe, 4x sword, 8x sword/shield. Combatsquadded so i get 4 squads of 2x axe, 2x sword/shield, 1x sword (second thought: maybe give the guys with shields powerspears instead of swords?! spears are used virtually never, but that guys will be standing in front of the others, and will most likely be the first casualties.)

What do you think?
Is this formation worth the points (and the $$$ for 30 new models)?
Did someone ever try this formation and can tell me it kicks ass (or maybe it does sound better than it actually is)?

(Of course I know that I can't play this formation alone; it will only be part of my new army.)
Most importantly, would the loadout be ok? I dont want to start building/painting just to find out i messed up the loadout of the squads.
