Two quick questions I have about using Knights in 30k. I read over the knight questoris army list. Is the only way to include knights into your space marine legion force by using them as an allied detachment, ie, 1 HQ and 1 Troop, so you HAVE to use two of them?
Or can you include one knight as a lord of war choice like in 40k?

If you do the allied detachment thing, with two of them, do they not count as lords of war and are thus not worth extra victory points for your enemy when they die?

Also, destroying a knight that counts as a lord of war is worth 2 victory points, correct?

from my understanding:

1) there should be a list of LoWs for space marine legions, and IIRC knights are not there, so allies only I assume?
2) Does the 'price of failure' rule apply to LoWs, or Super heavies? if yes then yes, if no then no.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

A legion can't take a knight as a LOW. Mechanicum can take some kinds tho.

Yes, you have to take them as a detachment. So yes, a minimum of two is required. I think as superheavies they still count for bonus victory points. I have never encountered more than one in 40k so I am not 100% sure on that.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

Yes, they still suffer from the Price of Failure special rule, giving up 1 VP per destroyed Knight as they are not Engines of Destruction but rather mere War Machines, having 8 or fewer hull points each.

The Knight is -not- a Lord of War for the Crusade Army List of the Legion Astartes, but -is- a Lord of War for the Taghmata Omnissiah Army List, under the entry Mechanicum Indentured Knight <Insert Type Here>.

Where is this all explained? I'm confused by what counts as an engine of destruction, or a war machine, or just a 'vehicle'. Same goes for models with wounds.

In the Lord of War section of whatever list. I can give you a page number for the Taghmata Omnissiah army list. Engine of Destruction means 9+ hullpoints, and is worth two Victory Points if destroyed, as noted in the Price of Failure special rule for Horus Heresy superheavies. War Machines can be taken 1-2 per Lord of War slot (rather than just one), have 8 or fewer Hull Points, and are worth only 1 VP when destroyed (though if you bring two, you lose 2 VP if they are both destroyed, so it's still roughly 2VP per slot).
