Having trouble putting it together. I'm at the stage where I have the frame, wheels, cab and box put together and glued on, but now the driver will not fit. He won't slide into place and is getting stuck on the box because of that thick square piece sticking out the back of the seat. Aside from shaving that piece down, which if I remember correctly is hollow, is there something else that may have went wrong that is causing him not to fit properly.

Is it possible to put him on the other side? he may fit better over there. The trukk kit doesn't actually fit together as designed...at least I've never gotten on perfect. I suspect you should put the driver in place before putting the front & back walls on the cab...not that that helps you now...

See that's what I thought too! That maybe he can fit on the other side, but 2 things: 1) I already glued the steering column on... big mistake! and 2) His right foot has this annoying little piece that looks like part of the pedals sticking out, which prevents him from sitting on that side properly. So even though I studied how the pieces fit together before gluing them, it seems that you are right about the kit being flawed. Good thing to find out now before I started building the 2nd one. Thanks! Automatically Appended Next Post: I just thought of this possibility too! It could be the way that his arms were glued on, making him lean further back than intended.

He seems to be designed to be glued in place _before_ adding the steering column etc, but the kit doesn't say to do so, and obviously doing so makes painting harder.
And I'd add the arms last of all, as they have to fit both the shoulders and the steering column.
The good news is that this is orks, so you can chop and trim (and cover up any gaps) without the result looking 'wrong'

Which side of the trukk are you putting him on?
Some of the GW info show's him on the rightside of the truck, some shows him on the left. I gambled on it being the right side (i figured, Uk right?) but afterwards I figured i got it wrong. I had to hack out a box to make him sit right, just like you're talking about.

He can sit on either side, it depends on the bitz you choose to use. And yes, the steering column should really be the last thing you glue in place. Regarding the piece on his foot, just cut it off, you wont see it down there anyway.

I chose the left side of the Trukk (N.A. way). Since I posted this I've seen a few videos where the steering column is glued onto the driver and then they are both put in at the same time. Thanks for the suggestions guys!

I hacked that part of his foot off, you can't see it anyway.

I had the same problem. If you put the driver in the more open right side, the turret gunner won't fit into the smaller gap on the left. By that point I was so over the model, I just left mine without the steering column. You can barely it see anyway.
