Hello,

I thought I might just put some work into the base design of my models.
This is for one of my Necron Lords. I also tried to improve my line highlighting (as you can see on the skarabs), but it is still not perfect.

What do you guys say? Thanks.

I say you've done an awesome job on that crackle effect

I would not carry the surface texture over the sides, but would just paint them black. Other than that it looks great!

How durable do you find the crackle effect?

The base looks fantastic! The onyl thing I am not fond of... as this is completely opinion... is the texture spilling over to the sides. Once again awesome work!

Thanks for all those great comments

@ Soul Samurai, Snoopdeville3: I don't know exactly why i put the paint on the side of the base. I normally don't do that.
After the paint dried, I just went with it. But I have to agree that I won't do that on the other bases.

@keezus: the paint is GW's "Martian Ironearth". I think it works really nice, but you should put another (invisible) color layer on top to fix the crackles.
I put a layer of Lahmium Medium on top and then started to paint and drybrush the base.
