Hi guys,

I am trying to build a nice 1500 point Blood Angel list since I have quite some models, but I have very little experience in 40K and none at all with the Blood Angels. This is what I came up with so far but I would really like some pointers and just to hear what you think. Thanks a lot for any help provided

Sanguinary Priest with jump pack, bolt pistol and storm bolter. -81 points-

Sanguinary Guard, 10 man, with chapter banner, 2x axe and 2x inferno pistol. -375 points-

Tactical Squad, 5 man, with meltagun in a Drop Pod -115 points-

Tactical Squad, 5 man, with meltagun in a Drop Pod. -115 points-

Death Company, 9 man, with jump packs, 1x power fist and 1x power sword. -247 points-

Death Company, 9 man, with jump packs, 1x power fist and 1x power sword. -247 points-

Predator with twin-linked lascannons, lascannon side sponsors and overcharged engines -150 points-

Death company Dreadnought with blood talons in a Drop Pod. -170 points-

The Priest will join the SG for the FNP and go for enemy elite / HQ units. I like them like this because they seem like flying terminators to me. I am a little worried about my Tactical Squads since they are the only scoring units I have for when I need to score some objectives and they seem quite weak.. Maybe drop a DC squad to get one more squad of tacticals and increase the numbers per squad aswell?
Love to hear what you think, thanks in advance for all help provided

If you are going to run DC squad in a drop pod you will have to drop the jumppacks since they can not use drop pods with them from my understanding.

Is this a competitive list or for fun?

I would run a SR with a squad of DC and a DC dreadnought if you are going to use blood talons. If you are going with Furioso Dreadnought then go with a Frag cannon.

Maybe drop the drop pod for the tac squads and run a razorback instead if you only going to run 5 man squads.

This is all my opinion though, I am sure some other people might have better inputs. Try looking at some of the BA formations, the ones from Shield of Baal Exterminatus are pretty good or just run a Baal Strike Force.

no I only use the drop pods for the tac squads and the furioso, I like the DC units to be able to move around and I think they can charge sooner if I just deploy them and start running.

I'm hoping to make a competitive list yeah

Is an SR a stormraven? if so, I thought about it but I would lose many points to it I think. DC dreadnought looks like a better plan indeed, let me adjust that right away.

For the tacs I just opted for the pods because they are cheap and I can drop em on an objective or next to enemy armour for my melta.

Thanks for the help man, as I said, I have very little xp in 40k (only played 5 games, back in 6th edition) so I can definitely use some other points of view

Yes SR is a Stormraven and it is a flying landraider assault vehicle, so once you deploy your units they can charge and you don't have to wait.

Since you would like to go competitive build a 1850 pt army instead of 1500. Most comp games I believe are 1850 according to the ITC for warhammer 40k gaming.

You might want to consider a Librarian as an HQ choice. I know some people run one, I don't but I also don't have much experience playing psykers.
