MY LGS is making a demo of Horus Heresy and I and a guy whom actually has HH models (yeah, everything I have is counts as save the predator). I want to make a list that will hit hard but at the same time my opponent will, should he plan properly, have a nice shot against:
My current idea:
Rite of War: the hammer of Olympia
HQs: 400pts
The trident tips, the bossmens:
1) A proud deputy of Perturabo, Horimandias the Vanguard! He's a praetor with a paragon blade, Iron halo, digital lasers and a melta bomb. 170pts
2) Leading from behind and calculating the best ways to bring down enemy fortifactions and armor, are Nasrik Kyrans and Vor Hemothian, both are legion centurions with artificer armor and refractor field. One is a master of signals and the other is a siegebreaker. Each costs 115pts for a total of 230pts
Troops:
3x squads of ten marines with sarges wearing artifcier armor and carrying nuncio-vox. 510pts
Elites: 700pts
2 batteries of 2 quad launchers, all of them carry shattershells, rending-shells, and the phosphex cannisters for AV, MEQ, and TEQ slaugter The master of singals shall lead one of them. 400pts
1 unit of tyrant siege terminators, there's a chainfist thrown in for good measure. 300pts
Heavy support: 390pts
1) predator with LC sponsons, dozer blades and PoMS, command tank: 145pts
2) Iron havocs with 4 lascannons: 245pts
Total: 2000pts all perfectly fitted.
My idea is to use the praetor in of the tac squads, mostly to show off rather than be competitive, or stay back and act as a defensive beatstick/ extra defense for my iron havocs. the master of signals will stay with one of the batteries, which wll be no further than 12'' so he can give +1 bs to those that will fire the shattershells. My siegebreaker will accompany the tyrants to give them tank hunters, thus further increasing my Anti tank capabilities.
