I realize that there are Dispossessed, Fyreslayers and also Dwarfs / Duardin under the Ironweld Arsenal.

But what about Miners, Catapults, Flame Cannons, Thane, Thorgrimm, Burloksson, etc.?

You can still find them under Dwarfs in the AoS App Warscrolls but not on the GW website.

Anyone know what's to become of them?

Thanks!

The same thing that happened when Chaos and Death got their Grand Alliance books. Older and slower selling kits and most Finecast models were discontinued and not included in the new subfactions in the Grand Alliance books. The models are still playable using the legacy Warscrolls, but if they're not still for sale in the 'Last Chance to Buy' category then they're gone.

Odd that they're getting rid of plastic Miners but I guess you're right, they got rid of plastic MenAtArms previously.

GW's doing a limited time offer on popular items that recently went out of stock.

Hopefully you can Email them so you can get your miners.

Miners are in the list too for that, if you go in last chance to buy and click email me on the Miners they'll tell you when they're back in stock and you hopefully can get some then.

I was sad to see miners go as I like them (need to work out what to do with my BFSP ones as there are only 8) - but I can understand why. They are essentially just another Dwarf infantry unit of which there is about a dozen already and more specifically a Dwarf unit with double-handed weapons - which the Auric Hearthguard, Hammerers, Longbeards and Warriors all are too - lastly they were the most dated looking of the Dwarf infantry kits, so in reducing SKUs they look like a prime cut.

Maybe in a years time we will see the more tech heavy kits moved to steamhead duardin, along with steam golems and battlesuited infantry- think warmachine dwarfs.

'Murica! (again)

Miners are one of these boxes you see at FLGS sunfaded and behind old dusty stock (at least in many places in US) but original sticker price, so like $20. Bought a few for past raffles at 2014-2015 events

So far, aside from the renamed/rebadged Seraphon and a few assorted kits for the Khorne Bloodbound, we haven't seen old kits mixed into the new factions.

Steamhead Duardin, if they become a thing(fingers crossed as my friend is excited for the prospect), will likely have anywhere from 10 to 20 kits.

10 to 20 kits? Seems a bit ambitious lol. Fyreslayers had 6 kits overall. After we've seen the Ironjaw release (which seems to be about the same in scope if a little larger) we'll have a better idea of how many kits new sub factions are likely to be released with.

Do you think the old models will be playable in perpetuity or if they might be deemed (general consensus) unusable at some point.

Anything that has a war scroll will be playable in perpetuity theoretically. The question is if you're registering for events, perhaps not all will allow them, and it also depends on your gaming group and what they like.

However, there could be a day they change some of the basic layout of AoS and the way they do the scrolls, say in a new version, and at that point I don't think they'd go back and do the legacy ones again. So I wouldn't say forever, just like anything.

Fyreslayers had 6 kits, yes.Two of those kits(Hearthguard and Magmadroths) build multiple entries--and GW counts each of those as a 'unique kit' in their webstore entries.
Plus I posted that right as I woke up and had just glanced at the webstore entry for Fyreslayers and Khorne Bloodbound, forgetting that they count the book as part of the tally they have.

The Ironjaw release is probably going to be the following:
A 'troop' kit that builds JUST the generic Ironjaw foot soldiers.
An 'elite' kit that builds two to three entries for Ironjaw elite Ironjaws.
Maw-Krusha building two to three different things. One we have confirmed is the Ironjaw Big Boss Guy and the other would likely be a spellcaster of some type.
Assorted blisters of foot characters; one of which we've obviously already seen in the form of the Mega Boss.

More likely they'll be banned from GW stores because the accounts in charge think that'll make you buy new mini's.

Could you supply just one example that even indicates that is the case?

I imagine as long as the model is by GW's creation then it'll always be fine for their games. That's always how it's been.

The legacy warscroll rules in the app are supposedly permanent but you can always proxy the model as well if a event organizer is uncertain. Might be more beneficial with future formations that you find appealing as well like using Bretonnians as the Order Draconis.

I guess normal dwarfs are coming up short in AOS.

anything that wasn't distinct from other things out there is going to bite it.

also its a good way to kill off the armies people already have - totally change the aesthetic and it forces you to renew your army.

Pfft that'd never happen there are no games but GW games after all.

Completely safe to invalidate collections built over decades there's no way they'd anger anyone.
