Hello Dakka Dakka.

So I have recently picked up a Vampire Counts force, and having fun building them and playing small games to start with, this force is primarily a 8th edition force but I have played it couple of times in sigmar.

My gaming group still plays heavily 8th edition but also sigmar.

I am thinking of having a good army also giving me 1 good and 1 evil force for Warhammer fantasy/sigmar.

My idea is to collect Lizardmen, and plan to put them on the circle bases, but also use the circle movement trays to allow them to rank up so i can still use them in 8th edition.

I just wanted to ask if anyone else has used circle based movement trays for this use, and any suggestions on the best place/stores to purchase them from (im from United Kingdom).

Any further tips on using circle bases for both sigmar and 8th appreciated.

Thank you.

All circle movement trays I've seen are all laser cut MDF boards, which do the job quite well. I don't have any experience with buying these boards but definitely look those up.

However, if you're playing both 8th/9th Age and AOS you may's well just keep using square bases, since it doesn't really affect much in AOS.

If you can't believe in yourself, believe in me! Believe in the Dakka who believes in you!

You will run into trouble if you want to use round bases and use them in older style Warhammer fantasy.
The main problem is, that the rounds are *generally* one base size higher than the squares they used to be on.

i.e Skinks were on 20mm squares, they are now on 25mm rounds.
Saurus were on 25mm squares, they are now on 32mm rounds.

For Daemons it previously worked out alright, because they were based on 25mm round and 25mm square. But due to the above, it's pretty hard to use the round based Warhammer Fantasy in square based games now.
