I ended up with a bunch of the Genestealer cult plastics off of eBay and they all came
With 32mm bases except the brood lord who had a 50mm.

Are these the correct bases for using these models in 40k?

My older genestealers are on 28mm bases. Is having genestealers on two different base sizes going to be an issue?

The regular cultists are all on 28mm. The two genestealers, the 4 aberrations, and 2 mining laser cultists are all on 32mm bases. The magus and primus are either on 28mm or 32mm. The Patriarch (aka Broodlord) is on a 50mm base.

As for being a problem, they are on the bases the model comes with.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

It's only the 3rd/4th generation hybrids who are on 28mm (except for the mining laser dudes). The 1st/2nd generation hybrids are on 32mm, along with the magus and primus. (EDIT: This is wrong. The magus and primus are on smaller bases)

My instructions show the Magus and Primus on 28mm.

The less humna 1st/2nd gen hybrids (autopistol) are on 32mm bases. The more human 3rd/4th gen on 28mm bases. I think the instructions are wrong about the Magus and Primus, and they should be on 32mm. However, some sets had incorrect base counts.

In the interest of pedantic accuracy I would just like to point out that GW has never ever produced 28mm bases, the bases are 25mm

First I apologize about claiming all cultists were on 28mm bases. I had forgotten the 1st/2nd gen were on larger bases.
Second I apologize for claiming anything was on 28mm bases. I was using the numpad, and of course 8 and 5 are right next to each other. Especially when I've been drinking right after work.
Third, I apologize for the apologies.

And I was just following your lead. I don't normally refer to bases by their measurement. I usually refer to them as "guard", "marine", and "terminator" bases.

My apologies, you are correct. I had another look at my instructions and those two characters are indeed on smaller bases.

Whilst true, there weren't enough 25mm bases in the set for everything the instructions show to put them. Personally I put the Magos and Primus on 32's, they fit better on the larger bases anyway.

Odd. I had just the right number of bases. I had heard about other having the same issue though.
