Pretty much as the title says. I've not got many vehicles in my collection but I want to add in some. However, as I also lack an airbrush, I'll be painting them with a brush. I used to have a set of Citadel brushes, but although they were decent enough to begin with, they quickly lost their shape. I now tend to use W&N brushes (Sizes 00, 0 + 1), but for a large brush it's quite dear. With that in mind, can anybody point me towards a few decent brushes that are moderately priced?

Do you a large craft store chain like we have Micheals here in the a States?

I use their "professional grade" acrylic brushes and they are quite good. When you don't need precise, a large paint brush of any kind is really adequate. Prepare to spend $6-$8, though due to the size.

Unfortunately not. Pretty much everything I buy is off the net. In any case, the nearest thing that would be like that would be at least a 2hr drive from me, so I'd pay more in fuel than the brush would be worth. Thanks for the thought though

I will suggest using a can of spray paint.

You will get a consistent smooth finish and excellent coverage provided you are hitting them with very light coats from different angles.

Eliminate a step with buying one that is base coat and primer like the Army Painter product.

For large models and vehicles, I use an Army Painter Vehicle/Terrain brush. It's big and can paint large areas quickly and evenly. I only use it for the largest models, and only for basecoating of course. I did the basecoating of my Stormsurge with it, as there were large areas where I wanted the same color of paint (in my case, blue).

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
