Yeah, I honestly don't know. Judging by the fact it's an utter monstrosity I'd put my estimate at nearly 20 (17?) crewmen for everything. What I'd like to know, though, is if there has been an exact number for the amount of crew in one. I know that there is a novel focusing on this beautiful tank, but I haven't read it.

Anyways, how many men do you need to crew a BEEIIIHNBLAAADE?

EDIT: Nevermind, I just found out. How do I delete a thread now?

May not have the tabletop game, but I love to read, write, and play the video games!

Driver, Co-Driver, Main gunner, Main Loader, Shell lift loader, Port Gunner, Starboard Gunner, Commander, Tactical Officer, Tech Adept (keeps it all running).

But I think the general number is 10 or 12.

The number generally depends on whos writing about it...

The crew changes if its say written in "Baneblade" (good book), to the Macharius Crusade series (also good). It changes all over the place.

Also there are several variants of Baneblade. One Forge World might make them differently than the other.

There is no set amount, but it is more than it takes to crew an M1 Abrams.

(taken from the warhammer wiki)

The Baneblade is the primary super-heavy tank of the Imperial Guard, and one of the largest and oldest armoured fighting vehicles in the service of the Imperial armed forces. The tank is a venerated Standard Template Construct (STC) design, with ten people needed to fully crew one. It is also one of the oldest STC designs in existence. They are often used as command vehicles by Imperial Guard commanders.

It might not be a exact number. Mostly because some people say that its not confirmed.

The one rule I have in my threads: DONT TALK ABOUT THE ABRAMS.

Imperial Armour volume 1 (First Edition) lists both Mars and Lucius pattern Baneblades as having a crew of: Commander, Driver, 3 Gunners, 3 Loaders, Comms Operator and Engineer.

It takes only 1 man to crew in a Baneblade, as long as he has a ladder to reach the ceiling.

Ten seems low. That's one gunner for each weapon, a driver, a commander and only two loaders.

From the book baneblade the heavy bolters and las cannons are remote controlled from one station by two people.

Poor design, one guy can't track and engage two different targets effectively.

One guy with a computer can though, especially when one of those weapons is just used to hose general target areas and doesn't require precision aiming.

Krieg! What a hole...

According to Baneblade, 11, but that's a fancy Mars pattern with touch screens and remote controlled sponsons that allows whoever controls the sponsons to use both the lascannon and the heavy bolters. It also has an elevator for the ammo of the main guns and 3 little beds to rotate the crew in long missions.

If the computer can track targets then one gunner can handle more than two guns.

Yep - thats how it works on modern tanks anyways.

The sponson weapons are controlled by servitors. So that cuts down a lot.

Read 'Baneblade'. It's a great read. A must for any real treadhead.
