How does Vortex of Doom (Daemonology Sanctic) interact with Jink?

My psyker successfully casted Vortex of Doom against my opponents Tau Hammerhead Squadron. Can my opponent Jink during my psychic phase to get a 3+ cover save against the VoD?


During the beginning of his next turn the Vortex of Doom will move automatically and auto hit anything under it. This happens during the movement phase correct?

If so, can my opponent Jink against VoD auto hits that occur during his movement phase?



Bonus Question: Can you take jink saves against Nova psychic powers? (Cleaning Flame)

You can only jink when targeted with a shooting attack. So on the initial casting of Vortex its targets a unit with a shooting attack so you get to jink. But when it just roams around nothing was targeted so no jink.

And since nova targets units you can jink.

But, in the case of Cleansing Flame...it has the Ignores Cover special rule. So jink away...:-p It won't help you!
