Got to the local GW store 20 min after opening to find the book sold out. Got my Imperial Space marine fig, and was told the book would be available to order on line all weekend. By the time I got home and got down to place an order it was sold out online. Phoned the store to see what my options were. They suggested checking the website again just as local GW stores were opening Sun to see if they had reserved any stock to release at that time. The hadn't and I was ready to give up. FLGS to the rescue! With a GW in the greater Vancouver area I thought ltd stuff would be exclusive to them, but I picked up the book earlier this afternoon, and spent a few hours on the couch reading through it.

Although I at one time or another owned almost all the content in there, if not still, it's great to see it all under one roof, and see the progression.

A couple of things I was really excited to see in there was all the different camo variants of Chapter colours, and The old rule for the Mentor Legion. I'd love to see some 7th ed rules for Mentors, and It would be great to see people changing things up to do with everything from color schemes to iconography, and painting the Chapters a little more in their own way again.

What did everyone else think of it?

Similar experience here. Had to get it from the FLGS! It is available on black library as a digital download, but where's the fun in that?

I dug out one of my old Mentor Legion minis I used to have done up to share. Back in the day I had a squad of Elite Cadre ready to field, but the other 4 were in Mk vi and recently got repurposed as extra bodies for my Ultramarines relic armour army. I put this guy together when Mk viii was a brand new thing to the game, and so with the Mentors' status as a field testing arm for the Mechanicus it seemed appropriate for the Sarge.
