Thanks, in part, to all of the advice I've seen here I brought this lust to the weekly tournament at my FLGS yesterday and I was rather pleased with the results:

==============
Hateful Eights
==============

100 points

Pilots
------

Rexler Brath (42)
TIE Defender (37), Tractor beam (1), Push the Limit (3), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)

The Inquisitor (32)
TIE Advanced Prototype (25), Push the Limit (3), Proton Rockets (3), TIE/v1 (1), Guidance Chips (0)

“Omega Leader” (26)
TIE/fo Fighter (21), Comm Relay (3), Juke (2)

First game was against Xisor, the other named Starviper and a named z-95 (the one who can boost attack dice). My opponent ended up deploying the z-95 too far from her others so I blasted the non-prince, turned on the z-with Defender and TAP (killing it in short order) wjile OL managed a crit on Xisor reducing his PS to 0. 100-0 victory.

Game 2 set me against Whisper (rebel captive), OL w/ stealth device and a Palp shuttle. I successfully faked my opponent out after deployment, concentrating everything on the shuttle (Rex R1 and prockets) but lost Rexler's shields to return fire from the shuttle (it has guns too!!??!?!). Rex and Inquisitor were subsequently killed off by whisper and Oppo OL while I killed the shuttle before tome was called (my opponent Palpatine-ing extra crits was... unpleasant. First time I'd experienced that).

Game 3 was another first for me, IG-88 B (HLC) and C (Mangler cannon) with him deployed in the corner so he could Advanced sensors and PTL for tokens before revealing 1 straight moves, double bumping to stay in place.

I'm actually most proud of this match because I kept my patience and managed to make my approach perfectly, putting the Inquisitor out of rande and arc along 1 board edge, Rex out of arc of 1 and out of range for the other and OL at range 3 of the Mangler cannon.

I also predicted his break out correctly for no return fire from the HLC) on the round I put R1 shots from everyone into 88B, killing it ... possibly losing Rexler's shields in return.

Then my maneuvering skills failed me as a 4k-turn by the Inquisitor put him just slightly off the board (almost made it, but almost only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and tactical nuclear weapons). And the bot, shields down, ran from Omega Leader until time called (a loss for tournament purposes, but personally I'm calling it a draw or even minor victory. With more time, I'd have finished the bot.

Suggestions for improvement or tinkering in the list welcome. I'd happily add autothrusters to the TAP if I could find the points, but I'm not convinced either dropping the prockets or Inquisitor-> Valen Rudor is a good choice. (Having shot the prockets at the shuttle and lost Rexler, I definitely felt under-gunned going after Whisper)

And I have a few photos I'll put up if I can figure it out...

Definitely add the Autothrusters to The Inquisitor and drop the Prockets. He should be at range 3 of whatever he's shooting at but Prockets require range one and he's much move vulnerable there.

That one Procket's shot probably isn't going to do you as much good as a three agility ship with Autothrusters and an evade and focus token every turn.

Yeah, in thinking about it today, I was wondering if having the prockets didn't encourage me to play more aggressively and close the range rather than keeping the distance open...

I'm also thinking concussion missiles might work there, to push me to keep the range open/reduce the temptation to fly close and keep an opponent from getting the extra defense die. But with the Inquisitor and prockets, i could fire AND have the focus & TL to make sure it hit hard...

Against Whisper (with all those defense dice) or the bro-bots (lots of green dice and shields and hull points... the 3 dice attack didn't feel like enough (much less 2 dice from Omega Leader)

What do y'all think about Zeta Leader, btw, with wired and weapon guidance he clocks in a full 3 points cheaper... that'd give me the points for both autothrusters and Concussion missiles for Inky

Keep OL. Drop Prockets. Add autothrusters. Don't worry about adding concussion missiles. The Quis is fine without them, like Scooty said. Shoot, you could even dump the tractor beam for a 98 point list and have a shot at the initiative bid, especially since PS8 is fairly prevalent nowadays.
