What sort of power is Chasm? My guess is malediction, but there are types of witchfires that don't have a profile and instead have an effect (ala Psychic Shriek).

They do not have a type. They probably noticed that some of their powers do not fit well in the defined types in the brb, like psychic shriek

It doesn't have a type, but it still allows a full deny the witch because it targets a Unit. No rolling to hit is required since it is not a witchfire. They will probably make Psychic Shriek look like this in the future.
