Has anyone had success using Shotguns on their Scouts? I'm looking to have some Scouts to round off a 500 pt list and I do want them to be CC orientated, but I'm wondering whether the CC attack would be better than the extra BS attacks. White Scars chapter tactics if that helps.
They're the best kind. You soften up whatever you want to charge, and with certain CT you won't care about that extra attack. With Carcharodons, you can get Rage later, and with Ultramarines you're doing rerolls enough to keep the damage output up.

I like mixing a few into my CC squads. You get more front loaded damage in the shooting round before you charge, at the cost of sustained CC power. Worth it IMHO. Shotguns are the middle ground of the scout world.
