The Bank of England decided an artist should be featured and asked the public for nominations. The final design was chosen by the Bank of England governor from a shortlist of five produced by a committee including three art experts.

Sir Winston Churchill will replace Elizabeth Fry on the £5 note this year, and Jane Austen is introduced on the £10 note in 2017. This new £20 will come in during 2020 and will be a polymer material

There's a very good book about The Fighting Temeraire, which is a history of the different ships that carried the name and the story of the painting.
