Hello there.

I am building a KDK army, and I have the opportunity to buy 20 chaos warbeats from friend. I plan to play them as blood hounds. I have never played them, so are 20 too much for a 1850pts list for an example ? I don't want to buy a lot then find aout that I only play ten of them...

They look great on paper with their scoot move and 12" movement, but I wonder if 10 would do the job...

Thanks !

Flesh hounds are one the best units in your codex, you'll use all 20 and want more.

Yeah, I second this. Flesh hounds are fantastic.

Active armies, still collecting and painting First and greatest love - Orks, Orks, and more Orks largest pile of shame, so many tanks unassembled most complete and painted beautiful models, couldn't resist the swarm will consume all
Armies in disrepair: nothing new since 5th edition oh how I want to revive, but mostly old fantasy demons and some glorious Soul Grinders in need of love

I third this. You will want as many as you can get for the Gorepack formation. Be sure to get some chaos bikes as well. I've seen both Daemonkin and Daemons players run single units of 20 dogs, including one player who ran two such units. They are just that good. I aim to get more for my Daemonkin at some point in the near future.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.

So, the short answer is yes Flesh hounds are amazing! I love running them, If you play KDK or Khorne Daemons they are worth every penny, especally if you are using warbeasts as your proxies. They are cheap as hell, and IMO look WAY better then the actual GW Flesh hounds. If you are someone who cares about the aesthetic, and like running them. http://www.puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=260 check these out, when you paint them red they look AMAZING! TBH you almost cant run enough hounds so long as you mix in stuff that can deal with things like high toughness modals or heavier vehicles. They make amazing bubble wraps against most things though and can kill almost anything that isnt T8+ or doesn't have rear armor more then 10. if they are anything but, they are nasty! and take SO MUCH shooting to bring down in numbers!
