The tyranid stuff used in groups make nice objectives and details for terrain.

I save all my spare weapons for use in other kits that may not come with those weapons. It's nice to be able to model all the options even when a kit doesn't come with all of them.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

For some reason the IG Guardsmen squad only comes woth Flamer and GL so I use the Command Squad weapons to arm my vets with plasma and melta guns. Also using the sniper rifle/poncho bitz to make a special weapons squad.

I mean, if you have no use for them and they're just taking up space, you could send them to me :p

Or post something in the swap shop or on eBay for a bitz lot.

What I won't ever use I trade or sell. I'm a bit of a bits hoarder though, so I'll probably always hold on the stuff for years before I get around to using them.

Save them, you never know when certain weapons will suddenly get a boost in a new codex and you'll wish you had them.

I've got them organized in about a dozen craft organizers. I'll never use them all, but I do enough converting that a well stocked bitz box comes in handy ALOT.

You can see my method here, though it's twice as big now.

Also...
-Sometimes I'll trade bits.
-Once in a while I'll participate in one of those "send bits to someone in need" threads
-at Lead Adventure there's a bits box that makes the rounds folks take what they need and send along some as well.
-Replacing missing bits or repairing used figs.

There are some batches of bits that everyone seems to have too much of (basic Marine bits) but even they can be useful when you pick up some armless metal marines and need to equip them.
