Well, I just took the plunge and bought 2 start collecting Space Wolves packs and an additional infantry box to go with them. What else do you guys think I should pick up? I was thinking a couple sets of Wulfen, but this is my first loyalist army and am not sure how to start.

Build what you have and proxy a few games. See what you like and then get that. I have a ton of models that gather dust because of the fact that I got overly excited. I haven't fielded asmodai in almost 2 years because I thought he'd be a cool character but didn't know how he would play out

I have like 3000 points of KDK already, so I can probably play around a bit with different configurations. This will be the first army that I buy all the kits and assemble for myself, so I'm both excited and nervous about it.

I built and am almost done painting the entire 5th company, inner circle, 1st company and 2nd company. I have a ton of models but it's mainly because I enjoy the collection aspect of the hobby. However, I would and still recommend playing proxy lists. Seeing what you like and building on that.
Otherwise if you are in it to get an OP list forums, websites and YouTube are your friends. If you are going with the rule of cool then follow your heart.

For a next unit, I would consider a vehicle of some sorts to carry around your new grey hunters, heck even a dread would do. (Even though they still have 2 attacks )

I was thinking about adding a pair of dreadnoughts, a drop pod and a squad of wolf guard with power weapons to come out of the drop pod. Are Rhinos or Razorbacks better? I've never played Loyalists before.

I'd give frost weapons over power weapons. 5pts more for delicious +1S.

I had had that thought, but wasn't sure if it was worth the points and the cheese. Guess I'll just go for it then.
