This friday I have a match against a tyranid player, 1500pts. I know for sure he will bring formations so I want a list that, while allowing both of us to have a fun match-since I want to try new units, will give me a nice staying power. I've thought of trying a formation too:

Formation: Aspect host +1 BS

5 Dark reapers, exarch with reaper launcher. Everyone packs starshots. 180pts
5 Dire avengers exarch with power sword and shimmershield (because that's how I have assembled the model, mostly) 95pts
6 swooping hawks, exarch has the sunrifle. 121pts

CAD

HQs:

Farseer skyrunner with the stone of anathlan, singing spear. 135pts
Autarch with swooping hawk wings, power sword and lasblaster. 105pts

Troops:

3x windriders with scatterlasers. 81pts

13x guardians with an EML and a warlock with singing spear. Dedicated transport: wave serpent with TL brightlance, shuriken cannon, ghostwalk matrix and holofields.

Elites:

5 wraithblades with axes and shields (because that's how I've assembled them, also, he has a trygon)

HS:

Fireprism 125pts

Wraithlord with two brightlances, flamers and a ghostglaive. 165pts

Pretty good, keep in mind your guardian squad of 14 total is too big to fit inside the 12 capacity wave serpent though.

They won't ride the wave serpent, though. That's for the avengers, my plan is to allow backfield defense in a nice piece of terrain so they can enjoy a 3+ cover save.

The list is for a friendly I am assuming? Because you said you wanted to have fun which is fine and I like to see that.

I'm a bit concerned about the wraithblades being on foot. I know they have toughness 6 but at the end of he day, they only have a 3+ armour and 5+ invul with the shields. Relying on them to fight the trygon is not going to work because he can deep strike it away from them and they are too slow on foot to get near him.

Apart from that, I like it, well done.

Actually, and that's a common misconception, they have a 4++ for FORCEshields, not to be confused with the knight's SCATTERshield. But it's not that big of a difference, I know. Though I could put them in the serpent (it will still be the DT of the guardians because I like to have vehicles with Obsec.

You can also ally with our dark brothers to allow the blades a fast assault vehicle.

I could but I don't own Deldar and my meta isn't too keen on allies.

The list seems a bit top heavy to me, I don't see much value in the Autarch with a lasblaster. Those points reinvested into bulking the Guardians or a second squad of Bikes would seem very helpful to me.
