Hi guys, I am new to the hobby and to the forum.

I play Dark Angels and yesterday I bought a Company Veterans Squad because the models look really nice.
I've actually figured out it wasn't the best choice...Obviously it isn't one of the first squads to take.

However now that I've got 'em I would like to kit them out to serve as my HQ (an Interrogator Chaplain) bodyguards (I also want them to be CC oriented).

I can't really figure out what the best loadout for this role would be.... can someone help me?

Thankyou

I would like to point out this will be scorned quickly by the internets, but I will throw it out there.

My friend ran a squad loaded with a bolt pistol and a plasma pistol. He would put them in a drop pod. They drop in and kill something dead. Point heavy and squishy, they still have to be dealt with.

I play codex SM and have had limited experience with DA, but I love to run my command squad as a 5 man drop pod melta squad. They can eliminate high value tanks with ease and serve as a great distraction to distract and keep the enemy on their board side.

For Meele I use them as bikers with an apothecary and put the infamous iron Hands Smashfether with them. Other than those uses I find there are better options to fill their rile, but again this is codex space marines so DA could be different.
