OK, so I shelved deathguard in lieu of going with my favourite chapter, Dark Angels.

I just ordered the B@C box set and have 10 FW heads en route. Now, putting this list together..thoughts for where to go with this army (I know only basic rules out right now)

I want to stick with fluff, so swords will be a plenty with my characters. I don't want to do the ravenwing or ironwing so wonder which Rite would be best for now.

I was thinking of going 20 tacs on foot with apothecary and 10 in a rhino. But wondering if i should just do 2x10 and leave the third squad for special or hvy weapons? I guess it's tough to know how to equip these guys since they don't have full rules currently.

Where ever the Emperor needs his eyes

Honestly with how plain they are, you could use any of the Rites with the Dark Angels, the main problem is gonna come down to how subpar the Legion rules are with out using their unique Rites.

well, beyond sending your death guard to me, the 'generic' easy to expand BaC list, in my oppinion, is:

1 praetor
1 centurion of any kind

2 15-man tactical squads

5-man termiantor squad w/ whatever
1 contemptor w/ kheres + fist

this gives you a ton of room to expand easily, and covers your bases fairly well for lower point games.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

I'm thinking some jetbikes with acid shells is a must take currently

so where do I find the grenade launchers? is there an option for combi-gren launchers? So tough trying to navigate these lists when they're spread over several books.

the grenade launchers should be the same as the GLs in the core rule book. combi-grenade launchers are a thing in 30k

I guess I just don't get it. Grenade launchers aren't in the main rulebook, they are not options for combi-weapons, and outside of grave warden terminators, I have no clue who else has access to a grenade launcher, especially since dark Angels have the option to take stasis grenades. maybe it's a new unit coming later? what the heck am I missing here?
The game looks cool, but the books are a mess with rules strewn all over the place.

for your rules, you need 2 books: crusade army list red book, and book 6.

as for combi-grenade launchers look in the January FAQ or a number of different books, it's there. I'm assuming they function like SA grenade launchers w/ frag and krak (with room for upgrades. location should be in crusade list red book). as to who can use them: anyone who can bring a combi-weapon

In the playing games in the age of darkness, it lists the following as options for Combi-Weapons: Flamer, Melta, Plasma, Volkite Charger, and Grenade Launcher. Also of note, when it says "power weapons" your options are Swords, Axes and maces. You can not take a Power Spear/Lance unless your rules say you can.

As for the state line for the Gernade Launcher, it's not in the 7th ed core book. The age of darkness rules were written for 6th ed, and 6th ed had the states for the grenade launcher in the main 40k rule book. You bassicly just need to know the rules for it. It's exactly the same as the one in the Imperial Guard Book.
