So I was on the gw site last night and noticed lots of the old metals are selling out for the guard. I nabbed myself some valhallens and some plasma guns of different legions. We all knew it was coming just putting the warning up on dakka.

I'm surprised that the Catachan Heavy Weapon Team is no longer available and that's plastic.

The Catachan Heavy Weapons Squad is still avalable though. GW probably decided since you need atleast 3 there is no reason to sell the box with only 1 when there is also a box with 3.

That and it was cheaper to buy the squad than buying three squads of 1 (25% cheaper if I remember). Probably since people needed a good few anyways the single set didn't sell at all.

If you are lucky you can even snag the old army box from back in the day, if you need bodies and HWT that was a super deal. Although if you are not paying retail for the new start collecting set the HWT and the Commissar are also free

This also means I should scoop up the random Commissars and Steel Legion if the price is right (ive got over 100, more shouldn't hurt, right?)

Off topic, i noticed that the regular CSM unit has been for quite some time now "out of stock".
I wonder why, they are plastic. New model rumors or what?

They might just be getting a re-boxing, sadly. Updating the cover art and so on.
