Hi there! Recently I've been improving upon my range of AM units so I can run more than just Mech Vets and a single Eradicator Tank (As much as I love the tank itself, I like having the variety) so here's a list and I'd love to have your opinion on it, I'll explain some of the choices at the end of this post.

HQ : 320

CCS
Carapace
2x Plasma Guns
1x Hvy Flamer
1x Flamer

4x Melta Bombs
4x Bolt Pistol
4x Lascannons
4x Flamers

1x Psyker
165

Dedicated Transport : 280

Land Raider Redeemer
Multi-Melta
Psyflame
Storm Bolter
Psybolt
280

Total : 2,000

So the idea is that whilst the main blob secures the rear and shields the CCS, both tanks have their job of handling whomever they need to, with the priest and primaris to make sure they stay and do damage, whilst the outflanking sentinel goes about late game to steal objectives, similar to the snipers too. The Gunslinging Inquisitor (Lovingly converted from the recent Commissar model) is just there to join my Vets in their transport, scout them up, and hopefully let me be able to toss the bomb first turn and get to melta the enemy (If I get first turn - Otherwise they'll hit a flank and steal objectives), and the Landraider is the other source of 14 AV tank that will perhaps get close enough to be a threat, and I do love using the Redeemers weapons and get the other inquisitor out and charge any unit and likely dish out enough damage first round! CCS just dishes out orders and bombs, and anyone who gets close enough will likely be pyschic shrieked away, or the PCS will be close by and throw out a lot of wounds. Initially I had GL's on the blob, but they've been so ineffective so flamers instead! Hopefully this all makes sense, but if I made any mistakes, please let me know!

You're massively overspending on the CCS and giving them a dual role to boot - plasma or flamer, i'd not recommend both. Also for the points you'd be better dropping the plasma pistol altogether so you could take 4 plasma guns total, since they cost the *exact* same

Bolters on your Infantry platoon Sgts is also a bit questionable as you're paying for all of one more shot at ap 5 with a CC attack at AP2 and not getting the best out of your investment of 16/64 pts.

Combo of flamer/lascannon is a bit questionable too. If it is for a charging disincentive fair enough - are you using them as a combined squad?

Also, i'm not familiar with inquisition these days but unless you're taking unbound - don't you need a troops choice?

Finally, given the volume of shooting you have to hand i'd suggest you consider including Kurov's Aquila - effectively 10-15% improvement in everything AM with preferred enemy makes a noticeable difference.

Emprah be with you!

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.

Thanks for the advice and I'll just explain some of my choices here too :

-I am limited by my models, though I can make another plasma gunners, or just the one, I need to check! But I always enjoyed the Flamer and heavy Flamer as the chimera only has two fire points and I can interchange from plasma shots to templates if the enemy is close (Say any large squads).

-Yes all the inf squads are together as one and I have the flamers just as a deterrent since 4 D3 S4 AP5 hits are much better than a GL. I could remove the bolters too, but I like being able to switch from las pistol to bolters, as sergeants don't replace their shooting weapons, just add to it! However I could remove them to save points?

- Inquisition don't have troop choices, thus the max detachment you can take is 3 HQ and 3 Elites with dedicated transport, though I could be mistaken.

- I may invest in the Aquila, it's just that it's rather pricey and it's likely that the Guard blob will have prescience anyhow!

-Finally, my own question, whose the best dude to have as my warlord? The power armour inquisitor or still my AM commander? Thanks!

- Fair enough - you can actually buy plasma guns in packs of 5 from GW btw

- page 89 codex AM, 'model can replace his laspistol with one of the following', so you lose you las for a bolter. Except for style reasons I don't recommend investing anything in BS3 on principle X)

- If your CCS was rocking purely long range weapons ( the common 'chimera bunker' effect) and trolling your board edge i'd go for that, but if not power armour (possibly in the combined squad) will last longer.

-Yeh I've just realized the extra guns so I may get some of them thank you!

-And good point! I completely missed that for some reason, huh, but I gave them bolt pistols as they're all modelled with them and I rather like them!

-And in that scenario, I'd give the CCS the honour of being the warlord, as they're mainly rear support : Dishing out long range attacks and orders whilst able to fire out lots of fairly strong shots at closing enemies. (Though I do have autocannons to spare, think they'd be useful?).
