Hi everyone,

I get my copy of Betrayal at Calth tomorrow. I may even go and buy an additional set because, well, just because. I have a quick question, does anyone know if GW will be releasing the sprues on their own at a later date? The BL Horus Heresy books have got me really fired up about 30k, I can't wait to get started!

Never heard they were going to sell BaC sprues outside of the BaC box.

You should be able to find sets of unit sprues on ebay though (I mean by this, 10 marines, 5 termies, etc). Not sure what people are asking for them lately.

On ebay sually less than £20 for 10 marines, less than £25 for 5 termies, £15 for the comtempter and £10 for the two heroes and obviously if you go by auctions you can shave a lot off of this.
Honestly though your better off finding a retailer that does 20-25% off and buying another full box and either selling what you dont want or using it all.
Ive heard chatter about more horus heresy box sets in the pipeline but it seems these will be expansions/other stand alone games using different HH plastic minis to expand the range.

In all honesty it's that we are all assumeing they will, since they are proper multi-part plastic kits. I will point to the time lag between the assassin game and the assassins becoming available separately.

In all honesty I'm posative this set is going to be cheaper them having them separate.

BINGO. 2 full starters and some FW upgrade kits (for your legion) is the way to go. Sprinkle in a Sicaran or Spartan or Flyer or Droppods.....

if you wanna go the calth box route:


1) get your boxes, DON'T build them as vet. tactical squads. they flounder as line infantry, but shine as support, so hold off on them. instead build some regular tactical squads

2) once you know your legion, look into their primarch/special characters/ special units and decide if you want them.

3) build and play what you think would be fun or would look cool. 30k is more about the fluff than the cheese, so to speak.

4) I'd recommend NOT going for typical stuff like spartans or sicarians untill you have a better Idea of what you want your army to be like. You don't want a spartan if you're playing a air-to-ground assault list

Thanks for taking the time to reply people, it's much appreciated! I'm just going to pick them up now. I've decided to do two separate legions, I just don't know which ones to pick as yet, I'll wait and see, but I will expand them with Forge World additions as and when!
