This week, Wyrd announced that they are giving away the core rulebook for Malifaux. I think this is a great move and will help tremendously to bring in new players. You have to sign up for a drivethrurpg account, but they don't ask for a credit card number or anything, so it's a piece of cake.

Got the rulebook already, but it's softback - this will save a lot of wear and tear.

And just a reminder for folks who are interested or on the fence: the boxes you buy have the stat and options cards for the models included, and you can also buy stat/option decks for each faction very cheaply. There are currently 2 decks for each faction, Waves 1 and 2.

So to start playing you need:

1) This free download;
2) A starter box;
3) A Fate deck (you can use a normal deck of cards if you wish).
