New to Armada, coming from X Wing.

Playing a 300 point game, will only have 2x VSD, 1x Raider, and 2 of every squadron type at my disposal.

Because we're still testing things out, I want to try running one carrier VSD and one heavy weapons platform.
Being the case, I'm trying to figure out which base setup would work best for my big guns ship (probably add other things as well afterwards, but just trying to get the base of my shooter ship down):

#1 VSD-II
Warlord
- H9 Turbolasers

#2 VSD-II
Dominator
- Leading Shots

#1 relies on the combo of fliping 1 blue dice to whatever side I need them to be (works out as auto hits against squadrons).

#2 makes it so I have the option to add up to 2 blue dice (at the cost of shields) to my attacks, and then subtract 1 to reroll whatever I want from dice remaining in my poool. (works out as extra shots against squadrons, too).

They're both the exact same price (101 points), so I'm wondering what the better base would be to build off of.

Recommendations?
