Subject: [1500] - Crimson slaughter with renegade knight and heretic allies

I wanted to make a shooty list utilizing the brand new chaos renegade knight rules and also taking advantage of the "double special weapon" rule for 10 man chaos marine squads...and my love of plasma weapons.
Crimson Slaughter
HQ
Chaos sorcerer
Terminator armor
Balestar of Mannon
combi-melta
ELITE
(3) Terminators
(3) combi-melta
(2) power axes
Champ has a power maul
TROOPS
(10) chaos marines
(2) plasma guns
Rhino
(10) chaos marines
(2) plasma guns
Rhino
HEAVY
(2) Chaos Rapier weapons battery
(2) Laser Destroyer
Heretic allies
HQ
Renegade command squad
TROOPS
(5) Renegade Infantry Veterans
(5) Renegade Infantry Veterans
HEAVY
Renegade field artillery battery
(3) Heavy mortar teams
Renegade Knight Allies
Chaos renegade knight
(2) Avenger gatling cannons
(2) Heavy flamers
Heavy stubber
Fortification detachment
Aegis defense line
Icarus Lascannon
Total points: 1500
Ok, so the sorcerer joins the terminator squad and march behind the renegade knight, blessing him with prescience and melting anything that comes close. The two rhino squads drive out to seize objectives and fire plasma from the firing points. The Chaos Rapier batteries find a ruin to hunker down in and destroy armor with the lasers. The HQ from the heretic allies mans the Icarus lascannon to keep the skies clear, the two vet squads seize backfield objectives while the mortar teams sit behind the defense line and rain death from above.
Seems like this should be an Uber shooty list with plenty of anti air, plenty of strength 7 for med to light armor, more than enough rounds for hordes, and some high strength 9 for heavy armor.

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies. |

Prettb sure field artillery are only a troop choice if you take an ordnance tyrant.
Otherwise the list looks good. Actually surprised it fit at this points level. I guess you have been efficient in not handing out upgrades to stuff.

According to Renegades and Heretics: Renegades of Vraks volume 3, I can take Renegade field artillery batteries as a troop choice. Made a couple changes to the list, replaced the Chosen with terminators with combi-plasma guns and gave the Sorcerer terminator armor as well, this should increase the survivability of the unit as a whole. I used the left over 10 points to add Militia training to the Rapier laser destroyer battery.

Sorry but you need to use the updated rules from Siege of Vraks 2015. You need primary detachment ordnance tyrant warlord to unlock field artillery as troops.

Updated the list using Imperial Armour 13 ruleset, Y'know, this new list might be even better than the old one...Chaos Rapier batteries FTW!!
